ORIGIN SCIENCE
Has science found answers to the fundamental questions, What is life and how did it originate? Is the texture of life maintained by mere lifeless molecules governed by physico
chemical laws? How has life developed the ability to self-replicate, self-organize, and advance in pursuing goals in living beings? Did life originate by chance and then, by imperative necessity, by unguided lifeless molecules?
From Darwin’s warm little pool theory (Lifeless molecules self-assembled in a warm pool or gradual transformation of lifeless matter into life) to the “primordial soup theory” of Alexander Oparin in 1924 and J. B. S. Haldane in 1929 to Urey and Miller’s 1952 flask experiment that simulated lightning striking the gasses in the early Earth’s atmosphere to Walter Gilbert’s 1968 RNA world theory ( life on Earth began with a simple self-replicating RNA molecule without help from other molecules), to 2010 Nick Lanes’ Hydrothermal vent theory (“Life arose in undersea hydrothermal vents”) to the current (Feb 2022): Clay mineral theory” ( Jacob Teunis (Theo) Kloprogge, Hyman Hartman.
In the Science journal “Life,” they proposed the formation of amino acids on the surface of Fe-Mg clay minerals which in turn adsorbed to organic molecules to form complex molecules and polymerization that birthed life), all these theories failed.
LET US PONDER
No one knows what an acceptable definition of life is, much less its origin. Human logic tells us that life must come from life rather than from a rock. Like a stone wall that collapses one by one, stone by stone, all their theories have collapsed, but their resolve to deny the creator is so profound. A sculptor can carve a sculpture, but can he make it come alive? No! Doesn't the Bible tell us that God created man from clay? Has God not breathed a breath of life? If life comes from God, why do they search for life in mineral clay?
