Scientific Miracle
Until recently, the term “cancer” implied death sentence. However, with the breakthroughs in biomedical research, scientists are able to reverse the trend against cancer. Recently clinical trials conducted at the Sloan Kettering Institute in New York on patients with rectal cancer have resulted in a scientific miracle. After 6 months of treatment with an anti–PD-1 agent Dostarlimab-gxly (Dostarlimab-gxly, a humanized monoclonal antibody of the IgG4 isotype that binds to the PD-1 receptor and blocks the interaction with PD-L1,PD-L2 and elicits anti-tumor response) alone, all the 14 patients (100%) were completely free of cancer. None of the patients required surgical intervention, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. No patient had a recurrence. Does this mean that we are on the verge of overcoming deadly diseases and creating a world where all will live forever young and may not even die? If that were the case, would God become obsolete? But the Bile says, 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
